seersucker suits

The cooling qualities of seersucker were recognised by the British in colonial India, who adopted the use of the fabric in an attempt to cope in the heat of the local climate.

seersucker suit

sky blue & white stripe

The classic Seersucker suit is the sky-blue & white narrow Bengal stripe that was wildly popular in warm climates during the 20th century.

Seersucker fell out of favour for a while, but its wonderful qualities have recently been rediscovered, and it is now available in a wide range of solid colours, checks and (of course) stripes.

The example shown takes the garment back to its roots - relaxed cut, unstructured and unlined, with simple, straight-flapped pockets.
